As some of you may know, I’ve been much more open with my faith and struggles lately.

Last year, through prayer, I asked God to show me how being a massage therapist is part of His plan. It was revealed last year to ‘work the social connective tissue’.

This year, through prayer, it was revealed to me to ‘be the connective tissue’. It’s unseen, transmits messages, and can handle and adapt to pressure.

I just attended an event where I saw artworks that showed me how that plays out.

I do not know the artist, but their work is on the third level of Hyatt House on Washington and State Street in West Loop.

Let me show you what I experienced.

Health Energy in motion.

his is how our connective tissue looks at its best, when it is in motion.

It is like waves and transmits forces in waves almost as fast as the speed of sound.

When you release the tissue, you can feel the ripple within your hands, their breathing, and their body.

Moment of injury.

Its fibers are torn, its gel like substance becomes irregular and the body goes into defense mode.

Circulation becomes too much in certain areas and not enough in other. Our whole equilibrium is challenged from our breathing down to our posture

The spectre of trauma. This is not the trauma itself, but the fear of doing the things you did before your injury or incident.

That voice telling you no, it will fail, no one will support you, and you aren’t good enough.

When we do it alone.

Healing is a collective process. However, our pride tells us that we can do it ourselves and that we don’t need anyone.

Things appear to get better, but we become brittle, dry, and unforgiving.

Receiving help. Usually, our help does not look familiar. We go one direction, yet our help comes from another.

Instead of colliding, the healer and healee combine into healing. Its colored differently in a way we cannot ignore.

The healing process. These are the tears from our eyes that heal the tears in our bodies and spirits.

This is the substance that melts unforgiveness, irrigates dry soil, and makes the rigid thing supple again. what was once callous soil becomes fertile again.

When the waters flow.

This moment is when all of what used to define you, your trauma, failures, and regrets are washed away and you become courageous enough to step out boldly.

The tears are still there, but they act as oil to heal dry and immobile joints and tissues.

The Repatterning. This is when we heal and forgive. Yes, we remember our trauma, yet are not traumatized.

We have learned and healed from it. We are not in a position to show our woven story, so that we can help those who are healing.

The black soil is rich and fertile so we can plant seeds for others to grow.
